Results Week: Week of 2/27-3/2

This has became an excited, event-filled week!  I can't believe this site and the work I have been putting into it was shown on television!! Even better, they want me to keep coming back!!  This was such a blessing and I need to take a moment and that Jesus for the great door he has opened.  This is becoming something bigger than what I had planned!! I am also thankful for such a great supportive husband!!  During the week, I did couponing a few times this week.  I messed up really bad on my first trip to Rite Aid, which turned into a second trip!  I couldn't get any of the Poise deals at Rite Aid or CVS, so rainchecks was my next option!!  CVS trip went smoothly.  I screwed up my preplanning math and paid a $1.00 more than planned. Oh well! Then I hit Walgreens for the first time this year!  If you are near a Walgreens, GO!!  They are having major clearance.  Of course, I don't go there often, so I always start out there without any Register Rewards, which makes my total a bit higher than my usual.  I also picked up some dryer sheets at Weis. Though I screwed up a bit these past two weeks on my planning, I think nothing can get me off this Cloud 9 feeling!!

Couponing Tip: I want to touch base a little on ecoupons!! Depending on the stores Coupon Policy, depends on how you can use ecoupons!! I suggest, as always, to review your coupon policy that should always be in your binder to understand it more!! Anyhow, did you know that multiple stores offer ecoupons to "clip" at a click?  All you do is go to that store's website, view the coupons, and sometimes you get lucky enough to find a great ecoupon to match up with the deal.  Depending on where you live, some store allow stacking with that coupon.  However places like, Weis, Giant Eagle, and Rite Aid do not offer this.  These are the only local areas where I live that offer the ecoupon program! So always check out the ecoupons while preplanning those trips to the store!

Results Week: Week of 2/17

I had such an off week this week.  I forgot my CVS Extrabucks at home.  Luckily, I didn't buy much, but that was depressing!!  Rite Aid, my bill was fabulous, however, I realized after I left that I didn't get an +up reward due to my wellness gold status! I will probably go back again at the end of the week just to buy one thing to get my $3 +up reward.  I can't complain though because I did get my $20 +up reward for the Buy & Save Promotion.  Sadly though, I had my days wrong and $7.00 +up rewards had expired.  I felt like having a funeral.  To me, it's like I took $7.00 out of my wallet and threw it in the trash. I did have great finds though at Weis & Giant Eagle!!  Plus to make my horrible week turn into gold, we got a shout out on WTAJ Channel 10 by Carolyn Donaldson, who recently became a new couponer!

Couponing Tip: Clearance is every couponers dream!! The best part is to know when the is at their lowest.  When things just  get marked down, don't hurry up and stockpile on that item!! Wait a week or two until the price drops!!  The only way I will buy something right away is if the last one on the shelve and it's a piece of clothing or something that along those lines.  Patience isn't a great quality, but it's a great one to have with clearance!

Results Week: Week of 2/10

I have to admit once again, I am love, love, LOVING the Buy & Save Promotion that is happening at Rite Aid.  Not only has it scored me many extra +Up Rewards, but it has been producing many great sale items.  I was a bit excited for the Sucrets deal because our family has been battling the sore throats.  Not only that, but there have been other great deals that have been going on!  As any couponers wish, I hope that these great deals trickle into the months to follow!  CVS had a few great deals, I am still kind of disappointed in their sales as of late.  It seems that the better deals doesn't involve Extrabucks.  Either way, no one can pass up freebies and I hope CVS can turn the deals around for us in the near future!! I also got some free Crest and a great deal on Duracell at Giant Eagle too this week!

Couponing Tip:  The major key to success is planning your trips ahead before going to the store.  Even more important, STICKING to your list.  The only way I will waver, is if I found some random amazing clearance deal or another deal that is stockpile price worthy!  To pre-plan to trip is vital.  You need to go through the flier and check out the deals and match coupons with them.  Then double check your favorite couponing site, You Saved How Much (of course) to see what deals we have found for you.  Use an envelope or fold up a piece of  paper that will hold your coupons in and write down your final list.  Personally, I like doing my final list according to aisles in the grocery store (or in transaction order for a drugstore).  After you complete that, go through your binder and put your coupons in the order of your list.  This way if you are questioning a product, if you don't get the product, or something else arises, you can get to that coupon quickly.  When you get to the register, make sure you have the correct coupons for your order.  I like to go back through, get multiple ones unstuck and make sure I got everything on my list. The cashier always appreciates an organized couponer!  This will help you not only maximize your savings, but help your shopping trip become less of a hassle!  Planning is always an important essential to successful money saving!

Results Week: Week of 2/3

I have completed another week of couponing!  I have been noticing that some of the CVS sales seem to be minimal compared to Rite Aid.  I am assuming this is because of the Buy & Save Promotion.  Either way I am enjoying it!  I went back to Rite Aid this week and got my last Aveeno item to receive the $10 +up reward promotion that I didn't get last week.  At CVS, they had a great deal on a 12 pack of Pepsi Products for their Deal of the Day.  I scooped that up and some other items.  I spent a little more than I wanted, but it was well worth it.  CVS is still having a clearance frenzy.  I keep strolling through each aisle to see if I become lucky enough to find some freebies with coupons.  This week, I found the Oral B Complete Toothbrushes on clearance, making them free after coupons!  I also hit up Weis this week.  I have to say, they had a great sale going on food & nonfood wise.  I scooped up the deal, when you spend $15.00, Get $5.00 off instantly.

Couponing Tip: One great way of finding coupons is on facebook!  If you "like" your favorite brands, they usually have exclusive coupons from time to time.  These coupons are usually higher in value. Also, your favorite brands from time to time, also have a freebie giveaway. Not only that, but our favorite couponing stores also have coupons!  Weis is now offering their ecoupons & when you visit their site, they sometimes have coupons for you to print off for their store.  Rite Aid as of lately are having "deals of the week."  These deals are limited and they are store coupons, which means stacking!  From time to time, CVS will issue coupons on their facebook or announce their store coupons, on their page, that you can print from their site.

Results Week: Week of 1/27

I started out this week thinking the deals weren't that great!! I was wrong!! Rite Aid was a little crazy this week.  Because the Everett one is so small, I couldn't get the Scrubbing Bubbles deal that I wanted!  Also, there is a double dipping deal going on with the Aveeno.  I didn't realize it until later that I didn't get the double dipping because of my wellness card being gold status.  I am very close to that deal and will probably get it next week.  Also I had to divide up my transactions there because the Aveeno coupons stated only a total of four coupons per transaction.  So I need to do that separate to keep my total low!  I went to CVS, Rite Aid, and Giant Eagle this week

Couponing Tip: One key ingredient to making couponing successful is organizing.  First off, making your binder easy to access.  Everyone is different on their organizing.  What makes mine easier for me is to have it divided up.  I have four major sections, hygiene, household, food, misc.  My hygiene section is even more divided up by toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo/conditioner, makeup, etc.  My household section has laundry, all purpose cleaners, floor cleaners, toilet paper/paper towel products, etc.  My food section has drinks, fridge, freezer, canned, meats, etc.  My misc has baby items, dog items, medicines (which is divided up even more for quicker access), store/restaurant coupons, etc.  To start, get a binder!  I have a zip up one because of how clumsy I am and so coupons don't fall out!  Buy baseball card holders!  There are also different kinds if you don't like folding up your coupons.  This is what helps me.  It is a bit time consuming, but well worth it for maximum savings!

Results Week of 1/20-1/26

This week, the deals were amazing!!  After seeing what all I got, I feel I went a bit crazy with the deals!  At CVS, I used my gift card again, so the total won't count to that amount.  The good news is I only have $1.28  left on that card, so then you will see my total of "actually" paying out of my pocket!  Rite Aid had so many deals that I wanted to do it all in one trip and paid a whole lot outta pocket!  I did reach my Buy & Save $100 goal and a $20 +up reward printed out!  So after all of that out of pocket cost, I have plenty of +up rewards to use on how I see fit!  Hopefully the next two weeks there has tons of deals!  This was the last week in January to finish the Buy & Save program.  In two weeks, Feburary's will start and that is the last month that they will have this promotion.  I also took a small trip to Walmart.  I decided to use up those coupons on really great items for under $1.00!

Couponing Tip: Do the terms "stacking coupons" confuse you?  Don't worry, I was first confused too. This is where you stack a manufacturer  coupon with a store coupon for one item.  You can't do this with two manufacturer coupons. The main stores that allow "stacking" are Target, Rite Aid, & CVS. I am going to break down each store for you to better understand. Target: Target has their own store coupons.  Sometimes you find them in the Sunday inserts; print them off of the target.com site; and on your smartphone, download the Target app to receive a text for mobile coupons.  The mobile coupons can only be used once for an item.  The barcode that attaches with it will know which ones you used and didn't use. The target.com coupons are only allowed to be printed twice.  Some Targets will only allow one "stacking" of the same item once. This means, if you have two printable target coupons and two manufacturer coupons for Downy, you can only buy one Downy per transaction.  Rite Aid: This store has a great stacking policy!  You can use up to three types of coupons per item!  They have the ad perks feature online.  You watch a video and print them.  One coupon only prints.  There is also flyer ad coupons and facebook coupons.  The only way you can triple stack an item is if one is a manufacturer  one has the beginning code RC48, and the other has RC49.  Those RC codes are store coupons!  You can't use two of the same beginning number for one item.  CVS: They have their "magic machine" that you scan your card one.  You also rarely get store coupons too!  You can get these in your mail or online.  If that rare moment happens, you can stack all three of them together!!  I hope this helps clarify what the couponing term "stacking" means!

2013 Results Week: 1/13-1/19

This week, I only stuck with one store.  I had to visit it multiple times because of the transaction rules, but Rite Aid was the only place that peeked my interest.  I am also enjoying Rite Aid's Buy & Save promotions that they have every January & February.  If you are unsure what this is , you have to buy at least $100 of selected products, total counts before coupons, and you will get a $20.00 +up reward.  If you go further, of course, you will get more.  To know what the items are, you will see a red Buy & Sale tag on the product shelves. If my local CVS didn't have the kiosk broke for the majority of the week, I might of shopped there this week with those great coupons some customers got!  To me since I had a total of $18.00 ECB, I decided that it would be easier to wait until next week, so I can buy things I am interested in.  CVS did have some good deals, but not enough for me to shop there.

Results Week 1/13-1/19

Couponing Tip: Do you know what to do if your reward doesn't print?  This happened to me last week at CVS.  The Aveeno deals should have printed out a $17.00 ECB.  I bought the requirement, which was 2 and I knew I didn't buy the excluded items.  What to do is before the next transaction or before you leave the store, double check your list and your extrabucks.  Make sure all of them printed.  If one didn't, go to the flier rack and find the item in the ad.  Take it to the spot where that item is kept and double check.  Is there a sales tag there?  Is this an excluded item?  Is this the correct size requirement?  Did I hit the required amount? If all of those questions end in a yes, then go straight back up front.  When you get to the cashier, explain what item didn't print.  Show them your receipt, the items, and the sales ad.  When they also verify you met the requirement of the purchase, they will print it out for you.  Always be nice and calm when explaining.  Being rude and ignorant will only upset the employees and not want to ever work with you.  If you shop there often, reputation is everything then.  I know personally by my visits, how some coupons can be.  I have heard their stories and sadly, couponers don't usually have a good reputation.
